Dreaming of a small school where every student feels a part of a dynamic learning community? Garner ISD is such a school system. A good education is about how you deliver quality instruction in a way that kids learn. Small size is an enabler in this equation. The 200 students at Garner School enjoy an environment in which they know each other and the adults know the kids.
Garner ISD is unique in Parker County in that it is a PK through 8th grade district. Garner ISD high school students attend Millsap High School where they enjoy the opportunity to further build on the solid academic base they developed at Garner School. Millsap High School’s practice of providing a personal laptop computer to each student for use at school and home is unique in the area. It is evidence of their commitment to preparing students to use the technological tools needed to be successful in the 21st Century.
Garner School seeks to equip students with values and skills for ethical decision-making. Character counts! Garner School also honors the importance of the fine arts in developing creative thinking through participation by all students in art, music, and theater. A well rounded physical education program and UIL participation in basketball, volleyball, and track rounds out a holistic approach to education. Junior High students wishing to participate in football are afforded this opportunity by participating as part of the Millsap program.
